Perseverance, Focus, Discipline

had a brief chat with a friend from bangladesh just now, and i found out that he is trying to get a phd in japan next year...urayamashii....*jealous...
and while writing this, i am chatting with a friend, my ex-colleague...and he is also trying to get his phd, in australia..
in less than 30 minutes, i am hearing two of my friends, from two different country, pursuing phd, in two different country....amazing...
anyway, in between the men's talk here in study room, my bangla friend told me that whenever he is in despair, he sometimes come to a friend, from srilanka, that always able to inspire him. and the one he has always remember is that in order to be a SUCCESSFUL person, 3 things are mandatory: PERSEVERANCE, FOCUS, and DISCIPLINE.
this srilankan friend, has been starting the third one since a month ago. from simple things like going to sleep at 11, and wake up at 5. and then do some yoga.
i personally believe in those values. and i personally consider myself able to pass the first one, but not the other two. muzukashii...*tough....how about u?

Lucas Film

I bet you all have heard the name above - one of the most successful independent production companies in the world. They produced Start Wars, Jurrasic Park, Pirates, Transformers, Indiana Jones, and so many mooooore. Well, here is a short movie by BusinessWeek showing the premise of Lucas Film, sort of googleplex for the movie industry I guess.

McDonalds in Japan

dazzling, tantalizing, mouth watering...isnt it? :p

it's been a year...

the last time i cut my hair was one day before i departed to japan...which was september 8 2006. and since then, due to out of sense hair cut pricing in japan, i decided to keep my hair until my final day here. been through those difficult moments with pony hair hanging in front of the eyes making it itchy like hell...and then this summer breaks that dont give me a break at all until i have to sweat everyday...i have been wanting to cut it since last month...but i thought i can stand those torturing moments for months...why can i not stand it for another last month?

hhmm...difficult call has to made today in this burning paddy field...due to unavoidable reasons...i have to call it an end for this hair...

Most Countries in a Sauna

here is a bit old actually, but still fresh...may 14 2007, IUJ students set a new record for Guinness, the most countries in a sauna. there were 50 of us, coming from argentina to zambia. we beat the last record which was 38 nationalities set in october 2004 in Kobe. it only took us 5 minutes to be in the Yuraiya sauna in Nagaoka city. this was also a gift for 25th anniversary of IUJ. being part of this record breaking event is a once in a lifetime experience i guess. never thought before that i will be in the list. hahaha...this IUJ experience is the best...

GoT NoTHiNG eLSe To Do…

during the summer, there is nothing much you can do in IUJ if you stay in campus and vehicle-less. temperature is not much different with jakarta's. however, inside my room is like hell...although i never been to hell before...but i guess it is about the same. So...i moved to the computer room, and while browsing the net and trying to find decent job, my hands started to open powerpoint and typing stuff related to telecommunication. i thought it will be fun, and i did have fun. digging the companies' website, looking for information, making templates...etc...

here it is the result of two weeks research...of course in between i went to buy watermelons, went to the waterfall, and play uno while watching movies with "tomodachi"...but, i wanted to try to publish elsewhere...not here...i said "dont mix business with personals"... :D

here is the link, there is a presentation file you can download there. can leave your comments there...not here...enjoy...
